I've been said that there is a delay of 2 minutes before the top bar, and the badges, are updated.
Testing this, I am able to have it outdated during at least 4'30 (during that period, I change read/unread status of several emails)...
I still think it is not a good idea to have the same information visible at the same time with one outdated value, but what is the rule used for this delay please ? And what is the request done each time this delay expire ?

I totally disagree with the "close/won't fix" without explanation of this ticket. This is a bug that must be at least improved (for 3.0.0 or later, the product manager must decide this).

You're right, Jérémie should have commented the ticket.
We decided to not live update the badge at all, instead of doing it every 5 minutes because that's useless. The badge will be updated only when changing pages.
-> I guess this meanbs we have to do some code anyway to remove the 5minutes check. Jeremie?

Making mail count badge live update seems to be too much tricky for a short release.
As a temporary solution to improve UX, it has been decided with David to

          • keep the 5 minutes delay of refresh
          • when displaying webmail (and only when displaying webmail), the badge displaying unread emails must be removed from the top bar.

          By this way:

          • no not-updated information is displayed (except the badge of waiting events if it has changed since the loading of the page)
          • the information is visible in roundcube
